Red Dawn
FBI, ATF, INS and other federal police appeared more like well dressed (and well mannered) plainclothesmen than Storm Troopers from Starwars central casting. At one time, the Second Amendment (The right to a means of self-defense) and Fourth Amendment (No unreasonable search and seizure) weren't sullied expressions. Respect between government and its citizens was a two way street, most often accompanied by a mutual regard for social turf. And the World Trade Center in New York City cut a path to the sky. By the time the twentieth century ended, both the perceptions and the relationships had taken a darker turn. The new Millennium began with the sight of sub-machine gun brandishing Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) shock troops smashing down the door of a small and unarmed home in Miami's Little Havana. Their credentials included a bogus arrest warrant, vulgarities, threats and a total disrespect for the American citizens they are alleged to serve. This callousness towards civilians coincided with international events during U.S. spearheaded attacks on Serbian targets during the 1999 Kosovo fiasco. At the same time came denigration of our military and increasing power of a national police force. To paraphrase a German Protestant theologian in Nazi Germany, "First they came for the Jews, but I was not a Jew and I did nothing. Next they came for the Catholics, but I was not a Catholic ..." It goes on and on until nobody is untouched by the arrogance of growing governmental tyranny. Anti-Semitism and anti-Christianity eventually become similar tools for diminution of the individual and family. Well, first they murdered peaceful separatists, but I wasn't a separatist. Then they incinerated an eccentric religious group, but I'm mainstream middle class. Then they came after the legal naturalized immigrants, but I was a native born American. And then they came after me ... the peaceful middle class. And civil rights took on a contemporary definition. The increasing assault on
mainstream Americans may be initially done through reprisal tax audits. It
might be accomplished through US Attorney and USDOJ EEO judicial social
attacks. This Employees of government are targeted, brutalized, terminated and threatened, because they are the wrong race, or religion, or have the whistleblowing temerity to fight corruption and terrorist friendly ineptitude in a vindictive and arrogant government bureaucracy devoid of conscience and decency. Any weapon is used, including physical vulnerability and threat of death (see Justice-Denied.net among others). And a post World Trade Center terrorism Office of Homeland Security combined with "anti-terrorism" legislation like h.r. 3162 casts even more shrouds over the future of our personal liberty and Bill of Rights. The spin machine of government has become effective and arrogant in its disrespect for the intelligence of Americans. Congress and the Senate seem to have increasing numbers who view re-election as their primary mission. Recent bipartisan history has shown that a compromised Presidency controlling the USDOJ has incredible power to corrupt and obstruct. Hard hitting investigative reporters in the mainstream media have become accommodating personalities. And the internet -- the last bastion of free speech and communication -- will be taxed and regulated into submission in the interests of "battling terrorism" or "saving the children" or "fighting drugs." And unless we are vigilant, there will be nobody left untouched. Michael G. Leventhal - Editor |
